BMW i8, is the first car with consumption and emission of a comact car. It's a hybrid car with perfect synchronisation of electric motor and combustion engine made with innovative LifeDrive architecture, ground-breaking materials such as carbon, layering design and numerous intelligent BMW Efficient Dynamics measures. The highly emotive design instantly shows which qualities the BMW i8 has to offer. The powerful plug-is the hybrid system with the combination of BMW eDrive technology and a BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine brings together the benefits of an electric motor and a petrol engine to produce an outstanding driving experience

BMW TWIMPOWER TURBO 1.5 lITRE 3-CYLINDER PETROL ENGINE.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which was newly developed as part of the BMW EfficientDynamics strategy, unites all the advantages that one would expect from the power unit of a sports car. Its engine management guarantees optimum charge changing processes across the ignition point and ensures a rapid response from the turbocharger. During operation, the 170 kW (231 hp) engine proves to be extremely free-revving and delivers up to 320 Nm of torque. At the same time, the dynamics and the high performance level are accompanied by outstanding efficiency, as demonstrated by the combined consumption of only 2.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 49 g/km.
AERODYNAMICS
The lines and flat silhouette of the BMW i8 make its pronounced forward thrust evident at first glance. Impressively dynamic even when standing still, it has a shape and details committed to the ideals of aerodynamics, which also influence its design. The stream flow, defined by the merging shape of the C-pillar, the side wall that swings upwards and the roofline, is more than just an optical accent. In the BMW i8, this concept clearly improves aerodynamics. A drag coefficient (cd) of just 0.26 underlines the status of BMW i8 as a sports car – with an aerodynamic wedge-shaped design unlike any other.
CONNECTIVITY
With the innovative BMW i ConnectedDrive solutions, the BMW i8 boast a high degree of connectivity – for an intelligent and sustainable form of mobility like never before
